C Duncan

The Glasgow-raised son of two classical musicians, Duncan studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and brought his compositional learnings to shimmering dreampop, lo-fi folk and baroque choral harmonies in a way that saw debut album Architect receive a nomination for the 2015 Mercury Prize. 2016 follow-up The Midnight Sun, like Architect recorded in his bedroom, saw him add darker electronic shades, earning a shortlisting for Scottish Album of the Year. Duncan returns in March with a third album made in a proper studio with Elbow’s Craig Potter producing, shifting into more personal lyrics while maintaining the harmonic art-electropop richness.
