“Doe makes snide exasperation sound like a party” according to NPR, which about sums up the London indie-rock trio who brought out their second album Grow Into It on Big Scary Monsters last year. If they dwelled in the Weezerballpark with harmonies, big choruses and chunky riffage, that album brought heavier notions to bear, not least in the lyrical theme of growing old, without sacrificing their earworm qualities.
