Jamie Lenman

Having laid low for several years after cult post-hardcore heroes Reuben split, the rakishly moustachioed Lenman re-emerged in 2013 with Muscle Memory, a double album comprising hardcore and metal on one disc, bluegrass and big band swing on the other. Its 2017 follow-up Devolver saw him both spread his stylistic wings, from sludge-rock to radio-ready melodies and electronics, and try to streamline everything together in a riff-hungry package along with trademark lyrics that veer from painful introspection to light deprecation. Keeping track of his chameleonic tendencies may be a job in itself but his live power, aided by a loyal fanbase, is undimmed by it all.
