Our Handmade: Music Programmer Nik Sharpe

Hey Nik - What’s your contribution been to Handmade this year?
I’ve been involved with Handmade since day one and have always programmed the line up for The Cookie, but this year i’ve been asked to help curate the full line up alongside John & Andy Wright. We’re really happy with what we have come up with and it looks pretty impressive.

What do you think makes the festival special?
The festival showcases all what is great in Leicester and brings the city together. It provides a great opportunity for the cities promoters, photographers, artists, bands and comedians to join up and create something special.

What’s your favourite memory of previous handmade years?
It’s got be seeing packed out venues for the local acts. We have so many amazing big name bands across the weekend, so it’s great to see a local act come and steal the show.

Which three acts are you most excited about seeing at this years festival and why?
Eagulls were outstanding at The Cookie in October last year and they’re a must see band. God Dam have become good friends with The Cookie over the years and it will great to see them on the big stage after the release of their critically acclaimed debut album. I’ve got a close relationship with Clubs and have been part of their journey over the past few years so to see them on the Mainstage will be a proud moment.
