Handmade Presents: A Winged Victory For The Sullen at Bishop Street Church, 3rd October

A-Winged-Victory-for-the--006

Keeping the handmade ball rolling, we’re excited to announce that our next ‘pop-up’ show will be the incredible A Winged Victory For The Sullen at Bishop Street Church, Leicester.

Comprising Adam Wiltze (Stars of the Lid / Sparklehorse) and Dustin O’Halloran (Sofia Coppolla’s Marie Antoinette Soundtrack), AWVFTS are veterans of the Erased Tapes stable (Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm etc.).

Modern Classical is perhaps the most accurately broad term for what they do. The Guardian described their debut album as “The future of the late-night record you’ve always dreamed of” and “Like bathing your ears in musical honey”

Working in partnership with The Robot Needs Home Collective and Firebug, we’re sure this will be one spectacular show, and we hope you can make it.

Tickets are available from See Tickets.

Because we don’t want you to have to wait a whole year for some more awesome music in an unusual venue, Tomorrow (Wednesday 5th June) we are putting on the fantastic Icelandic instrumentalist Olafur Arnalds in the spectacular setting of Leicester Cathedral.

Working in partnership with The Robot Needs Home Collective and Firebug, we’re sure this will be one spectacular show, and we hope you can make it.

Tickets are still available from: WeGotTickets and a number will be held back for on the door - but don’t hang around as they’ll go fast!

Check out this intimate and endearing set from Olafur filmed live at Iceland Airwaves.

Thank You

Rolo Tomassi

Well, what a lovely weekend that was. Massive thanks to absolutely everyone who performed, contributed, curated or volunteered (especially the volunteers. They were all super cool to give up their weekends to make something that previously only existed in our heads).

Picking anyone out seems unfair, but we are an enormous amount of debt to Liam Sexton, Stephen Jones, Kieran Brindley, Joe Williams, Matt Daly, Jamie Ward, Alex Jackson, Fraser West, Russell Daly, Ollie Petch, Sam Walker, Joe Moran, Amber Gibbs and the rest of the Attic arts chaps, Rachael Smith, David Wilson Clarke, Scott Choucino and their army of photographers, Adnan Ahmed, Grace Petrie, Joe Phipps, Tinny and Nick at the cookie, Andy Wright, Holly Holdsworth, Lauren Barrow and all the Demon FM folk, Natalie Beech Shona, Nick, Alex and an absolute army of other people who constantly reaffirmed how awesome our city can be when everyone chips in.

There will be a tonne more content going up on this site over the coming weeks as we slowly post all the videos and interviews that our awesome friends at Demon Media captured throughout the weekend.

Once again, thank you so much for being involved, even if it was just by buying a wristband and watching something cool. High fives all round.

Internet Tickets Now OFF SAIL, Tickets Still Available from Firebug

Although we’ve taken all weekend and day tickets off sale online, you can still pay ‘on the door’ by heading to the Firebug Wristband Exchange point from 5pm onwards today.

Don’t forget that however you’ve brought your ticket, you need to head there in order to swap it for a wristband.

The Weekend Draws Nearer

As we’re mere days away from the start of the festival, we thought we’d write a quick list of important things you need to know!

I’VE GOT MY TICKET/TICKET CODE! WHAT NEXT?

Whether you have a day ticket or a weekend one, whether you bought it online or in person HEAD TO THE FIREBUG WRISTBAND EXCHANGE FIRST. The lovely volunteers there will swap your ticket for a wristband. DO NOT go straight to any other venue - they’ll just have to send you back there. That cool?

I’VE NOT GOT MY TICKET - WHAT DO I DO?

Okay, so you have a couple of (well, three) options.
1. Buy one online from WeGotTickets. The link is over there on the right. There is a 10% booking fee.
2. Buy one in advance BEFORE Friday from either Firebug or The Crumblin’ Cookie. There’s no booking fee or anything. Sweet, right?
3. Buy one ‘on the door’ by heading to the Firebug Wristband Exchange. They’ll slap one straight on your wrist. Bare in mind that if we’ve sold out for that day this won’t be an option. These tickets are also slightly more expensive than advance ones.

WHAT ARE THE AGE RESTRICTIONS?

Firebug is 18+
The People’s Photographic Gallery is 18+
Bishop Street Church is All Ages.
All other venues are 14+

If you have any other questions, drop us an email to [email protected] or tweet at @handmadetotally. We’ll get straight back to you.

Handmade will be the second ever sow from Leicester’s haus, who formed from the remnants of Minnaars. Blisteringly current but with a air of Retrospective synth pop, their debut EP is on the way.
